This is long.  I'm long winded...so sue me.

    Feelin' a Lil' ''Greeky'.....

    I came here yesterday.  Appearance...clean.

Ordered my food.  I got the 'Combo Super' (minus the 'hummus') and the Greek Fries.

I went and got my drink and this is one negative for me.

While tha' place has a clean appearance there is  (especially by the pop area)--an 'odd' odor that would prevent me from dining inside.  Ever.

However strange it maybe, I wasn't worried about tha' food but was glad that the 'odd' odor--didn't transfer to tha' taste of...

I don't know what it is (it's not a 'spoiled food' odor) but something else I can't quite put my finger on and enough to make me take my food to go.  Maybe some cleaning solutions...bad mop...water??

In their defense though...there was a family actually dining inside AND by the 'pop' machine.  Maybe, it was my nose?   Naw....they just didn't care.  That's what immo say.

Yeah, it's not me...it's them. Lol.  My nose knows.

    Where was I?  Oh....

There's so much on the 'Super' listed, that I missed what I think was 'avocado sauce' or maybe that was the 'spicy sauce' itself (which I also debated on getting).

The little cute guy who took my order kinda' convinced me to try it. Said "I'll give you tha' least spicy one"...

    Bad cute guy!  Bad.

It wasn't horrible but for me--I just prefer tha' taste of the actual 'base' of the food (in this case the 'greekness' for lack of a better word or description) over....peppers.  But I tried it...not a deal breaker but...

Separate sauces or whatever...it was a--nope.

I definitely don't think it belongs on a beautiful Gyro.

Yes family--Gyros are beautiful. Yes they are.

I was kind of worried when tha' young lady handed me my order because the bag was 'very lite' but I just said thank you baby and left.

I said to myself "this sandwich fitna' piss me off".

    Tha' Fries.

I got to my car and I decided to eat in the parking lot.

The first thing that I tasted was the fries.  They were OK but they definitely wasn't worth $5.99 for a bag of 'American Fries' that slapped a 'Greek Wig' on.

No...don't do that.  Matter fact--stop it.

I was a little concerned and knew something was up when they came in a bag.   They were basically just American fries sprinkled with feta cheese and a little bit of spice.

A+ for being VERY hot.  But look here.  I've enjoyed good Greek fries plenty of times at various places.

The Mediterranean downtown--has POOR lamb-lackin' Gyros but the BEST Greek fries in my opinion.  At most Greek places they're typically drizzled with some type of 'Greek spice laden vinaigrette/oil' which amplifies the Greek flavor.  Also lends a little moist tastiness to the 'crisp hot fry'.  These--were not.  Thus tha' bag.

This here was definitely not worth $6.00 and definitely...not true Greek Fries hence--the 'Greek wig'.

    Poorly styled.

I got Feta at home...I coulda' did that myself.

Tip:  Get rid of tha' dang bag, invest in tha' little 'red and white', checkered paper boats...concoct a Greek oil vingarette ( you can do it...I believe in you)--and proceed from there.  Then maybe they'd be worth calling 'Greek Fries'.

Maybe they'd be truly WORTH $5.99.  Need to recover tha' extra cost of the 'paper boats'?? Heck--make em' $6.99...your customers would be grateful.

We will pay for 'tasty goodness'.  And for those who buying them as is---you straight 'robbin'.

That's not what's up. Whatever you do...work that out.

    Tha' Gyro.

I'm a little perplexed on the weight of the bag because once I opened it, the sandwich was in a clear container nicely wrapped with an 'open end' to see the sandwich.  It looked small but when I took the 'blanket' off of that 'baby'--yeah she was FAT.

I diggz that there. I ain't no small sista'.  When it comes to food-- I gets down.  I wont--what my hard earned 'coins' paid for.  So don't play wit those.

I'm 'agreeably greedy' and I yaint shy about it neither.

Back to the future.  Someone said in their review that the meat was tasteless.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it was 'tasteless'.  However, it could use a bit more of 'something' and that something is more Greek spice.

As it is?  Even with the annoying spice--was good.

I mean, it ain't like Greece is on 'Pac Highway'.  So, for me when I want a Gyro--I will return to a good substitute.

    I sure will.

Gimme my Gyro tha' traditional way.  Extra meat, extra Tahziki.   And every once in a while, if I'm feeling a little....'rabbit-ish'...I'll have them throw some (non-traditional) 'ruffage' on there.  You know...to make me feel like I'm gettin' veggies in my diet.

And some hot out tha' oil Fries (and they better be) minus tha'--'Greek Wig'.....an yeah....

When I'm feelin' a wee bit 'Greeky' an...an...'lambish'...

Yeah--I'd go back to tha' Gyro Shack for that.

    I suuuuurrrre.....would.

This was my first time here. Ordered the deluxe. First disappointment came from having to pay extra for lettuce. ..
I got my order togo..got home and found that there wasnt any feta cheese on my sandwich. Uggghh. How is that vital part forgotten?
Fries were cold, meat was luke warm. As I'm reading through these reviews, this is not the 1st complaint with the cold food.  If I were a business owner I would take these reviews seriously and make sure that another person doesnt leave the same review. I probably...will not be back or at least no time soon.

Descent for another option in Lakewood.I went here and had the bacon gyro it was good and I would come again.I think for quick food fix this is a good option they even have a drive through ...but for the person looking for a better quality gyro or your a food snob like myself look at other options within 15-20 minutes away.

I pass this place almost everday since I am constantly out and live around Lakewood. So I finally got try it out. The customer service was good, friendly and helpful. I ended up ordering the gyro supreme which was a breakfast gyro. It had cheese, peppers, bacon, egg and gyro sauce. It wasn't too bad,  I enjoyed it. It had alot of flavor and the pita bread made the taste stand out alot more.

    1. I drove up to the drive through window and waited for 3 minutes, for absolutely no one to serve me.

    2. Leaving, I witnessed another customer sit and wait 5 min at the drive through window, before having to pull up, park and go inside to order.

    3. Not sure why a 2 min gyro took so long to make. There were two teen or tween girls working. Instead of one taking orders and one making them. They took a string of orders and then began to make them all at once; causing the first person to wait the longest for their food. I was second and it took 12 minutes for my one gyro, that cost $9.

I'll make my own at home next time.
